Hyundai will manufacture a hybrid supercaradmin
Hyundai hybrid supercar
Surely when Honda announced that it would build a sports car that would rival Ferrari in 1986, many thought it would be a resounding failure. But from that audacity was born the legendary NSX. Well, 32 years later the story more or less comes back to repeat, but this time, the protagonist comes from South Korea, since Hyundai confirmed that it will develop a hybrid supercar, which could be marketed under the premium brand Genesis.
Surprisingly, those responsible for this news were the Vice President of Research and Development Yang Woong-Chul and the Director of Design, Luc Donkerwolke (most known for being the father of the Lamborghini Murciélago and Gallardo), during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held in Las Vegas, in the United States.
Although it is still too early to know the final configuration that will have Hyundai superdepotivo, everything seems to indicate that it will be a two-seater model that will get its power through a hybrid propulsion scheme of the central position. Come on, at least on paper, would follow the same path traced by the Ferrari LaFerrari, Porsche 918 Spyder or Acura NSX.
It is noteworthy that the project is led by Albert Biermann, head of the division of high performance “N” and in the past worked as a former head of BMW M. Also, it is likely that his image is inspired by some conceptual models such as the Hyundai HND-9 or the Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo.
Who would say that a brand that until the beginning of the new century was despised by half the world, today is about to create its own supercar … Life gives you surprises, surprises give you life, oh, God!
